Both assets can be transferred through GasFree without needing to hold TRX specifically for the network fee. The applicable fee is deducted from the same token being transferred. But the numbers are different. For USDT: ➾ First transfer: 1.5 USDT activation fee + 1.5 USDT transaction fee ➾ Subsequent transfers: 1.5 USDT per transfer For USDD: ➾ First transfer: 1 USDD activation fee + 0.5 USDD transaction fee ➾ Subsequent transfers: 0.5 USDD per transfer And that last number is where the comparison gets interesting. 1.5 USDT vs 0.5 USDD. Based on the stated token-denominated fees, that's 3× lower for USDD on subsequent transfers. The same difference also applies to the listed transaction fee: USDT: 1.5 USDT USDD: 0.5 USDD The activation fees are different too, with USDD at 1 USDD compared with 1.5 USDT for USDT. What I find interesting about GasFree is that the experience doesn't require users to keep TRX in their wallet specifically to cover these supported transfers. You hold the stablecoin. You initiate the transfer. The applicable GasFree fee comes from that same stablecoin. For someone making frequent transfers, the difference between 0.5 USDD and 1.5 USDT per subsequent transfer is worth paying attention to. GasFree isn't just removing the need to keep TRX for these transfers. The fee structure also shows how the cost of repeated transfers can differ between supported assets.
