Singapore is getting closer to putting its stablecoin rules into law. The Monetary Authority of Singapre has opened a consultation on changes to the Payment Services Act that would formally bring in its stablecoin framework. Only licensed issuers will be able to call their tokens “MAS-regulated stablecoins.” Everything else marketed as a stablecoin will be treated as a digital payment token.
