AI doesn’t just need more data. It needs a better understanding of the world we actually live in. That’s the part of @vangrid_io I find interesting. A smartphone can become a tool for collecting spatial data, turning real-world footage into 3D representations that AI systems can use to understand physical environments. Instead of every company building its own field collection operation, Vangrid explores a different approach: connect people who can capture a location with those who need that data. There’s a practical layer behind this, too. → Smartphone footage becomes spatial data → Location-specific requests create opportunities for contributors → Buyers can review reconstructed results before acceptance → Onchain attestations help make network activity verifiable → USDC settlements connect completed work with payment The network has reported 1.25M+ captures, 450K+ users, 4,700+ attestations and over $600K in settled USDC. What matters next is whether this activity translates into reliable, useful data that buyers consistently want. Because physical AI won’t improve through digital information alone. It needs systems that can learn from real places, real objects and real environments. @vangrid_io is working on one piece of that puzzle: making the physical world easier to capture, reconstruct and access.
