Most people think of DeFi yields as staking or lending crypto. But what about US housing credit? That’s what caught my attention with @NUVAFinance and its new HOME vault. HOME gives eligible users onchain exposure to a managed portfolio of US residential housing loans, starting with just 1 USDC. Here’s what stands out to me: → A 7.0% target policy rate, set monthly → A built-in first-loss buffer targeted at 5% of the vault cap, designed to absorb losses before they reach HOME holders → Yield accrues into nvHOME, so there’s no manual claiming The initial vault cap is $12M, with about $10M in TVL at launch. Of course, the 7% is a target, not a promise. The buffer doesn’t remove every risk, and redemptions are processed within 3 US business days. Still, making exposure to US housing credit accessible onchain from 1 USDC is an interesting step for the RWA space. Worth keeping an eye on.
