Polymarket Is Ditching Bridged USDC for the Real Thing #Polymarket just announced it's swapping out USDCe for native USDC. USDCe is the bridged version of USDC that people have been using on Polygon. It's basically an IOU token that wraps regular USDC so it can move across chains. Now Polymarket is upgrading to native #USDC, which is issued directly on Polygon by Circle. Why does this matter? Native tokens are just cleaner. No bridge risk, no extra steps, no wrapped nonsense. It's the actual asset, living on the chain you're using. Polymarket has been growing like crazy, and this move makes the platform more professional. Less friction, more trust. The upgrade happens automatically for users. If decentralized prediction markets are going mainstream, they need to feel as solid as the centralized ones. This is how you get there.
