𝗔 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗪𝗜𝗡𝗸𝗟𝗶𝗻𝗸 Evaluating an oracle requires a different framework from evaluating a blockchain. Start with the data. Where does it come from, how diverse are the sources, and how frequently is it updated? Then examine the operators. How independent are the nodes, and how resilient is the network if individual operators disappear? Next examine the consensus mechanism. How are observations combined, and how is the final report verified? Then examine the consumer layer. Do applications correctly handle stale data, abnormal values, and unexpected conditions? Finally, examine economic sustainability. Is there real demand for the service, and does the network have a credible mechanism for compensating the infrastructure that provides it?
