Multiple big Bittensor $TAO accounts have challenged my assertions about subnets, dTAO, and how I chose to shift my strategy over the last 12 days. Calling my assertions BS or flat out wrong. Go ahead and tell me what I’ve been posting is BS. Happy to be proven wrong or corrected. Here are the main points I’ve been posting recently so you can easily see what you’d like to pick at: - I sold my entire subnet position on sept 10 near the local top for sum of subnet prices. I did that for 2 reasons: 1) I saw the strength in bitcoin. I realized that the bear mkt might be coming to an end. I realized that might be a catalyst for $TAO to rip higher. And every experience I have had with subnets when TAO rips higher is that subnets crash when that happens. I didn’t want to get caught in crash subnets while TAO is ripping. Please tell me how this is BS. And I was right. Evidenced by the inverse correlation be TAO and the sum of subnet prices pictured below. This is what I have seen since feb 2025 EVERY TIME TAO price increases dramatically. Subnet prices suffer. I don’t care if the network and dTAO was built to do the opposite. I don’t care if EVENTUALLY subnet prices catch up. I can always preserve my TAO, and get back into subnets at lower prices and with a larger bag than before after TAO has made a huge move and then chills out or pulls back. 2) I am very frustrated with const bc of his increased unilateral control of the network. I have spoken to several subnet owners lately who are also very frustrated by it. The rules of the game keep changing which makes it harder for the current subnets to succeed. They model their infrastructure based on the current setup of the network, then const changes the rules of the game and it wrecks their current setup. That is a fact and that that’s the message I’ve gotten from subnet owners and it’s a fact that Const is making these changes without consulting anyone. It’s also a fact that these changes have led to serious discord within the Bittensor community, multiple OG Tao holders to exit or reduce their positions and head to other projects like NEAR or VVV. It’s also what led to TAO underperforming compared to these other AI projects in recent months. These are all facts. I don’t want to HODL subnets when the creator of the network keeps fucking them over with these changes. Will the changes be good for Bittensor long term? Maybe. I hope. But rt now they are/were taking the wind out of the sails for Bittensor. People are losing faith. Including myself. I remain hopeful though and haven’t sold a single TAO token through this crap. But I’m frustrated. - I have maintained throughout that my exit from subnets does not mean that I think the subnets suck or don’t have value. I believe there are at least 10 killer subnets in the Bittensor network and probably more that will achieve huge success. I just don’t like watching my TAO stack crash while TAO is going significantly higher. - I have maintained that my belief and strategy is that during the bear market I’m ok with being heavily allocated to subnets while the price of TAO languishes but that when the bull returns my strategy for subnets is to be nearly 100% allocated to TAO in root and try to catch quick event driven trades in subnets where I snipe. Get in on a hot subnet, ride the wave for a day or 2, increase my TAO stack and exit. So you’re saying that what I have posted above is BS. What parts specifically? Prove me wrong on any or all of it. I’m happy to listen. But to those of you on the fence, ask ourselves why these big accounts are so adamant that selling subnets to go to root rot now is a bad idea. Could it be bc they themselves are trapped in subnet positions that are crashing while TAO rips, and they have a vested interest in you buying subnets again?
