Just a courtesy reminder. If you hold an ETF you literally hold nothing but a digital contract. When things go south contracts can become null and void. The $SPY index is not something that was ever supposed to be traded. It was created just to give a broader overview on the market. This applies for all indexs. When you hold individual stocks you actually own % of that company. When you hold and ETF you are holding money in someone else's fund. That fund takes your money and invests it themselves into the companies you see under that index. But what happens when ETF's and Stocks fall together? $GOLD ETF IS NOT ACTUAL GOLD $BTC $IBIT ETF IS NOT ACTUAL BTC $SPY ETF IS NOT YOU HOLDING A PEICE OF EVERY COMPANY $OIL ETF IS NOT REAL OIL ALL ETFS are run by some fund manager and the only thing you hold is a long term or a short term contract. The longer you hold your money in their the longer you are paid dividends in USD not in stocks.
