BLACK MONDAY 2.0 IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN? 💀 On October 19, 1987, the Dow crashed 22.6% in a single day. The S&P 500 lost 20.5%, wiping out roughly $500 billion in US stock market value. Now, 39 years later, the fear is back. Oil above $100, surging Treasury yields, sticky inflation, geopolitical tensions and AI related selling are creating a dangerous mix. But there’s a major difference. In 1987, portfolio insurance and automated selling amplified the crash. Today, circuit breakers can halt trading after the S&P 500 falls 7%, 13% and 20%, while central banks have more crisis management tools. That doesn’t make markets crash proof. It just makes a repeat of 1987 less straightforward. October 19 is a coincidence, not a crash forecast. Will Monday bring another brutal selloff, or will the bears get trapped?
