😳 I think this event serves as a powerful warning to traders. Wall Street is closed, but perpetual contracts tied to chip stocks continue trading 24/7. This weekend, positions in SOXL, SanDisk, and SK Hynix were liquidated for a total of approximately $51.6M within just 10 minutes—about $38M of that was on long positions. The scary part isn’t just the leverage—it’s that during this time, the real stock market was closed, with no spot prices from the primary market to anchor valuations. When liquidity dries up and prices start sliding, long positions get liquidated in a cascading chain. I like the idea of having access to stocks around the clock, but “open for 24-hour trading” doesn’t mean the risks disappear—it just shifts the risk to periods when the primary market isn’t there to anchor prices. Convenience and safety don’t automatically go hand in hand. #Crypto #Perpetuals #Stocks #Trading Source: https://t.co/2ZkgdKPtM8
