Oasis Is Done Waiting for Someone Else to Build the Killer App. It Is Building It Itself Crypto has spent most of the last decade building infrastructure and waiting for applications to justify it. @OasisProtocol's co-founder Jernej Kos said it plainly in his update this week: the industry has over-indexed on infrastructure and under-delivered on the consumer-facing value that makes any of it matter. After eight years of building the most complete privacy stack in the industry, Oasis is making a direct move toward the application layer, and the first product is already live. The foundation was never in question. Sapphire remains the only confidential EVM network in production. ROFL extends confidentiality and verifiability to off-chain compute. Five years of mainnet uptime. A validator set that has never missed a beat. A clean security record across every cycle. $ROSE powering a network that has quietly become the most technically serious privacy infrastructure in the space, validated now by the wider industry's renewed focus on exactly the problems Oasis identified in 2018 at Berkeley. What has been missing is the breakout application that makes the value of that infrastructure tangible to people who are not already deep in the stack. That is the gap Oasis is now closing directly. The first result is Privana Finance, live now at https://t.co/xMykx7cTUq. Private trading, smart yield, and automation with full self-custody, all built on the key encumbrance and confidential compute infrastructure that Oasis has spent years developing. This is not a product that could be built on another network. The confidentiality properties of Sapphire, the programmable policy engine of Privana SDK, and the off-chain compute capabilities of ROFL are what make it possible. The tech was always the foundation. Privana Finance is what that foundation was always pointing toward. The strategic shift means committing to fewer things done exceptionally well. Oasis will continue supporting third-party developers building on the network, but shipping products directly means the team owns more of the stack and value flows back into the network in a way that ecosystem support alone cannot guarantee. More applications are already in development with announcements coming soon. The thesis has not changed. Privacy is foundational infrastructure for any blockchain use case that touches real human activity at scale. What has changed is the level of conviction about who needs to demonstrate that thesis most clearly. Oasis built the rails. Now it is running the train. Details: https://t.co/JssvxUfrR1
