As far as ETFs go, $QQQ (The 100 largest Nasdaq Companies) beat everything for 3 decades as a widely held Fund. It even beats all companies but when it picks a fight with Berkshire Hathaway $BRK.b , every single time, Berkshire will let it win for short bursts but the Arc of Time corrects this. Take a look at this chart (bottom left) since 1999 and look at the bottom left of the chart. At that time in 1999-2000, people were questioning Berkshire’s relevance and leadership. The past 14 months is similar. Berkshire Hathaway is that neighbor who doesn’t drink, smoke or have debt. They’ve lived in their home for decades. They don’t try to keep up with the Jones’ . They are the Billionaire Nextdoor that never talks about their wealth and has every tool in the shed and can use it 24 hours a day. They are prepared for anything. Now they look good when there’s uncertainty. The past month has been flashing that QQQ has a drinking problem. In April (chart on the right) QQQ drank a case of beer and then hit a tree. It wakes up today, feels great but the momentum will shift back to Berkshire Hathaway. It always does. If QQQ is too large of a position, take a win today and move from Miami to Omaha. It’s more boring but that’s sort of the point. 3 decades of evidence.
