Market Rotation Report- 7/20/26 AI data center power and colocation led every sector today. $WGMI closed up 10.78% after Hut 8 signed a 15 year lease worth 9.8 billion dollars and IREN raised annual recurring revenue guidance above $4B dollars, which is the hardest evidence yet that AI capex contracts are still being signed while the complex de-rates. The catch is volume. Relative volume came in at 0.80, below average, so a 10.78% move happened without buyers actually showing up. That is a repricing on headlines rather than accumulation. Elsewhere the tape was thin and mega cap only. Chinese large caps $FXI rose 2.67% on relative volume of 1.18 after two state owned firms disclosed roughly 60 billion yuan of stock buying and the securities regulator called a market stability meeting, so this is policy support and not earnings. Crude backed off from $91 Brent to $88 as the Houthi blockade of Saudi Arabia got priced, which kept oil $USO and broad commodities $DBC bid but at a fraction of last week's magnitude. Genomics $ARKG and biotech $XBI funded the session, falling 3.99% and 2.15%, because speculative healthcare is where money is raised when the bid narrows. Only mega caps $QQQ and $OEF beat $SPY while every small and mid cap index lagged, which means participation is contracting rather than broadening.
