Let's talk about @get_optimum I promise to Make you understand it mechanics brick by brick What is Optimum? Optimum is building infrastructure for how blockchain data moves between nodes. Most blockchain discussions focus on things like execution, consensus, validators, or transactions. Optimum is working underneath that layer specifically on the network responsible for getting blocks, blobs, and other important data from one validator to another. The problem is that blockchain networks rely heavily on gossiping to spread this data. A node receives information and passes it to other nodes, which then pass it along again. As the network grows, this can create a lot of repeated data movement and add latency. Optimum’s approach is to make that data propagation more efficient using Random Linear Network Coding (RLNC). The important part is that Optimum doesn't replace the blockchain or its consensus system. It doesn't process transactions, control validator keys, or decide which validator proposes a block. It focuses specifically on moving the data faster. Its main product, mump2p, is designed to work alongside the existing networking stack, so validators can use it without changing their consensus rules or hardware. So, at the simplest level: Optimum means infrastructure focused on making blockchain data propagation faster and more efficient. The technology behind that is RLNC, which is where the interesting part begins.
