Warning: Long post. This is a post to all of you who laugh at me in the comments about the stock price of $OPEN. You don’t realize what kind of beast investor mindset you’re laughing at. I invest to learn and to become better every year. My goal is to be one of the best. Money is just the byproduct. So here it is. First: $OPEN is not my only stock. Sure, I might be somewhat heavily invested in $OPEN, but I own 16 other companies. And my actual goal, within 5–10 years, is to trim that down to maybe 5–6 companies max. Second: My opinion is that $OPEN, as a company, is doing far better than anyone expected in this harsh environment. This view is confirmed by our own superb tracking (sales and acquisitions), the CEO himself, the numbers in the Q1 and Q2 reports, and the customer reviews. Also, it’s insane how well everything flows in the hardest of times. Therefore, in my investment philosophy of Never Selling, there are only three realistic scenarios for the next few years. Scenario 1: $OPEN goes up from here. I win. And I win astronomically more than if $OPEN hadn't dropped to these levels. I have substantially more shares now. → I WIN Scenario 2: $OPEN goes up later, but dips now. It doesn’t matter to me. They can go down to 2, 1, 50 cents. They can get delisted. I will still own the stock. And to be honest, I don't mind owning it if $OPEN is out of the market. As long as they consistently show operational improvement in flows, processes, cost structures, sales, etc., I will continue buying and becoming a bigger owner. And I will have the chance to DCA. → I WIN AGAIN Scenario 3: $OPEN goes bankrupt. When I see real red flags for bankruptcy, I will sell. I'll give them 1-2 quarters to try to fix things, but if they fail, I will sell. And I will probably get around 5–10% of what I have invested back. This is not the end of the world for my portfolio, because I am a diversified stock picker. → I lose, financially, but I survive, financially, and I go out of this journey with substantially more knowledge for the next stock pick = I win again. After 20 years of investing, I’ve come to this: 1. Knowledge of the art (yes, it is an art, the art of picking what you want to be the owner of) 2. Knowledge that is about knowledge (money is a byproduct, it's the wisdom and knowledge you should chase) 3. Knowledge to only invest money that you don't need and never will need to widraw Know this and the feelings lose their grip. The pull of money breaks. The flow of capital no longer owns you. Money is not the master. You are.
