Oklo and X-Energy shares rose in after-hours trading after Bloomberg reported that both companies are joining a Trump administration program aimed at accelerating the development of nuclear reactors to power AI data centers. The $200 million initiative, supported by Microsoft and Nvidia, seeks to expand next-generation energy infrastructure needed to meet surging AI-related electricity demand. The program could be formally announced Wednesday at a U.S. Department of Energy AI energy summit. According to Bloomberg, national laboratories and institutions including the University of Texas at Austin are expected to receive $60 million over three years to support related research and development efforts. The initiative addresses growing concerns that the rapid expansion of AI data centers is straining U.S. power supplies and contributing to rising electricity prices. $OKLO $XE
