NVIDIA Copyright Case Advances in U.S. Court, First Hearing Set for January 2027. Winamp Group subsidiary Jamendo says its amended complaint against NVIDIA has now been formally served, moving the U.S. federal copyright case into its next procedural phase. The first hearing is currently scheduled for January 12, 2027. Jamendo alleges that NVIDIA used its music content and associated data without authorization in developing AI technologies. The lawsuit itself was originally disclosed in June, but the formal service of the amended complaint and the newly disclosed hearing date are fresh developments. The case does not currently appear material to NVIDIA’s core GPU or data-center earnings, but it adds another live legal test over copyright liability for training generative AI systems.
