Anthropic has signed a $35 billion computing contract with Nvidia-backed cloud provider Lambda as it rapidly expands its AI infrastructure capacity, according to a person familiar with the matter. The project includes a data center in Texas being developed by Hut 8, while Nvidia is reportedly set to lease the facility. The deal adds to Anthropic’s growing infrastructure commitments, following a $45 billion agreement with Nscale in West Virginia and cloud-service deals worth $50 billion with Fluidstack and $45 billion with SpaceX. Meanwhile, Lambda is reportedly seeking to raise up to $3 billion at a valuation of $12 billion or more. Nvidia has increasingly used its financial resources to expand access to AI computing infrastructure, supporting demand for its chips.
