SK Hynix Second-Quarter Operating Profit Won 6.05 trillion… Achieving Record Profit of 76 Won for Every 100 Won Sold SK Hynix posted record-breaking quarterly results for the second quarter of this year, with revenue of Won 79.3187 trillion and operating profit of Won 60.5426 trillion—both the highest in company history. Revenue surged 257% and operating profit jumped 557% compared to the same period last year. Net profit also reached a record high of Won 93.9226 trillion. The operating profit margin reached 76%, meaning the company retained 76 won for every 100 won in sales. This places SK Hynix second globally, behind Micron (80.4%), and surpassing major tech giants such as NVIDIA (65.6%) and TSMC (60.3%). The strong performance was driven by increased sales of high-value products fueled by expanded investment in AI infrastructure. High-performance products including HBM, AI server DRAM, and enterprise SSDs led price increases. According to market research firms, average DRAM contract prices rose 58–63% quarter-over-quarter in the second quarter, while NAND prices increased 55–60%. For the first half of the year, cumulative revenue surpassed Won 100 trillion for the first time in company history. Cash and cash equivalents rose to Won 88 trillion by the end of the second quarter, with net cash increasing to Won 6.94 trillion, significantly strengthening the company’s financial position. SK Hynix analyzed that as AI expands in agent-based forms, the foundation for memory demand is broadening. The company noted a structural shift in which demand for AI memory and general-purpose memory is growing simultaneously.
