Say something unpopular: Don’t buy MSTR for now. Some folks are asking: Why buy $STRC instead of $MSTR? Because MicroStrategy has been continuously issuing more MSTR shares for two weeks straight—yet hasn’t used the proceeds to buy any BTC. As a result, since July, the MSTR/BTC ratio has been on a downward trend. ➤ Right now, buying MSTR may be less advantageous than buying BTC directly. Even if BTC rises, MSTR doesn’t necessarily follow. If BTC surges significantly, MSTR might rise too—but likely not by the same magnitude. So for the short term, avoid buying MSTR. If you believe in the trend, buy BTC directly. ➤ Don’t be misled by STRC’s smaller upside compared to MSTR. MicroStrategy’s current strategy is to sacrifice MSTR to support STRC—with the goal of bringing STRC’s price back to around $100. Look at the MSTR/STRC ratio: it’s also been declining since July 1st. Yes, MSTR has greater upside potential—but STRC’s ceiling is capped at roughly $100. Plus, STRC pays dividends every two weeks. Currently, STRC trades at $86.89, but dividends are calculated based on its $100 par value. That means STRC’s nominal dividend yield is 12%, but its actual yield is 12 / 86.89 = 13.81%. ➤ Final note: Wait until STRC stabilizes near $100—ideally holds there—before considering buying MSTR. Once STRC stabilizes around $100, MicroStrategy will likely resume issuing more STRC and using the proceeds to buy BTC. There’s even a chance they’ll sell BTC to repurchase MSTR. For MicroStrategy, STRC is the short-term objective; MSTR is the long-term goal—but not right now.
