FII & DII Derivatives Positioning | July 21, 2026 🔹 Cash Market Activity: Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) were net buyers of ₹1,650.16 crore, while Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) were net sellers of ₹656.88 crore. 🔹 Index Futures: FIIs remained cautious in the index derivatives segment, selling 9,024 index futures contracts, with their Long-Short Ratio standing at 8.58%, indicating a predominantly bearish positioning. 🔹 Stock Futures: FIIs sold 29,757 stock futures contracts, suggesting reduced exposure in individual stocks amid prevailing market uncertainty. 🔹 Index & Stock Options: On the options front, FIIs sold 20,198 Call option contracts while buying 98,394 Put option contracts, reflecting increased downside hedging and a defensive stance. 🔹 Market Interpretation: Despite net buying in the cash market, FII positioning in derivatives remained cautious to bearish, with continued selling in futures and significant accumulation of put options signaling expectations of elevated volatility and the need for downside protection. #FII #DII #Derivatives #Nifty50 #BankNifty #StockMarketIndia #EquityUpdate #MarketTrends
