Polygon Giugliano will undergo a hard fork on April 7 to enhance finality and fees. The Polygon Foundation has announced that the Giugliano hard fork will go live on mainnet on April 7, 2026, at block 85,268,500 (estimated time: approximately 14:00 UTC). This upgrade is part of the ambitious Gigagas scaling roadmap, designed to significantly increase throughput. By allowing block producers to announce blocks in advance within a cycle, the upgrade will reduce transaction confirmation times by approximately 2 seconds. Additionally, it improves real-time fee data by embedding EIP-1559-style gas parameters directly into block headers and introducing new RPC endpoints, enhancing transparency and improving the user experience for dApps, wallets, and payment services.
