My uncle just asked me, over Thanksgiving leftovers, if his 401k can hold Kaspa yet. That's the world we're in now. The DOL proposal from last week doesn't block altcoins from retirement accounts, it just doesn't guarantee a path in either. Plan administrators still have to justify adding anything beyond BTC and ETH to a fiduciary... that's the real hurdle, not the rule itself. Here's why this matters more than the headline suggests. Once even 1% of retirement money has a legal doorway to something like KAS, the whole POW vs POS argument stops being a Twitter fight and becomes a flows question. Boomers aren't rotating into memecoins. They're rotating into whatever their advisor can defend in a compliance review, and "the most secure POW chain not named Bitcoin" is a much easier pitch than most L1 decks I've read this year. I've said it before: Kaspa and the other POW chains flip the major POS names next cycle, not because of Twitter hype but because institutional money eventually wants the security model it already trusts from BTC. This 401k crack in the door is step one toward that thesis actually having a funding mechanism behind it. So the real question — when your plan administrator finally lets something other than BTC/ETH through, what's first on your list?
