Will InfoFi Coming Back? My honest take after @KaitoAI's data agreement with X I believe that we were once creators in the first wave of InfoFi. I remember the Yaps era well. You post good content on X, Kaito's algorithm scores it, you climb a leaderboard, and projects pay you for mindshare. It felt like a new way to get paid for being early and being smart on Crypto Twitter, not just for having a big following. Then X cracked down on apps that rewarded people for posting. Nikita Bier, the product head at X, said these programs created too much AI spam and low-quality reply farming. X cut off API access to apps like this, and Kaito had no choice. Yaps was sunset. A lot of creators, including me, just stopped posting as much. Now, Kaito announced a formal data agreement with X. They launched something new called Kaito Katalyst. So the question once rising: is InfoFi actually coming back? 1/ Here's what actually changed: + Data agreement with X is not the same as the old developer API access. It sounds like a direct, sanctioned data pipeline, not a workaround + Kaito Katalyst is built differently from Yaps. Instead of rewarding raw posting volume and engagement, projects pay creators based on what they actually drive: clicks, sign-ups, deposits, real in-platform activity. Katalyst rewards attention that converts into something measurable + Other product lines: Kaito Studio, Capital Launchpad, and Attention Markets with Polymarket, where people can literally trade on how much buzz a topic or person gets The market reaction has been loud. $KAITO went up like 120% in a month. That tells me traders think this narrative has legs, at least in the short term. But price action is not the same as the product actually working long term. My honest opinion: yes, InfoFi is coming back, but more tough. If Kaito wants to keep this new data agreement alive, they cannot go back to a model that floods X with noise. X will just cut them off again. What I think comes next is "performance-based InfoFi." Katalyst already points this direction: pay for outcomes, not just visibility. I expect future InfoFi products to look more like affiliate marketing with a social reputation layer on top, rather than pure attention farming. You get rewarded because you brought real users or real capital, and your social credibility is what proves your content isn't fake. 2/ What advices you should take I'll be watching whether Katalyst rewards feel fair to smaller creators, or whether it mostly benefits accounts that were already big. Also, if $KAITO rally holds once the "new deal" narrative cools down, since that will tell us if real usage is growing or if this was mostly speculation. If you're building your own reputation on X, be practical and focus on real conversion rates because the final target is how projects may want to accumulate users, not just raising awareness. I'll get you updated.
