Nobody brags about their settlement asset. But try running a serious market without a good one. Think about what a trade actually needs: a price, a counterparty, and something stable to settle in. If the thing you settle in swings several percent overnight, every margin call and payout gets messier. That's why stablecoins quietly do so much of the heavy lifting in onchain finance. It's also why native USDC on Injective caught my eye. Traders and apps can settle in a dollar-based asset directly on the network, instead of leaning only on wrapped versions that depend on a bridge staying healthy. Now pair that with what Injective already has built in: an onchain orderbook, derivatives and tokenized real-world assets. An asset can be issued, traded against a stable unit, margined and settled in one place. Anyone who has tried explaining why a simple trade took four separate steps will appreciate that. It helps builders too. A team making a lending product, a payments tool or an RWA market on Injective doesn't have to solve the settlement question from scratch. And with AI agents starting to pay for data and services onchain, a stable unit of account only becomes more useful. Now the honest part. A stablecoin is only as solid as the issuer, the reserves and the rules behind it. Native doesn't mean risk-free. And a good settlement asset doesn't create demand by itself. People still need reasons to trade and keep their capital in the ecosystem. So what I'll be watching on Injective is pretty simple: how much stablecoin liquidity sits on the network, how much of it actually gets used, and whether it's still there when markets turn ugly. Boring infrastructure rarely trends. It's usually what's still standing when the noise fades. #Injective $INJ
