And the facts are concerning. 🚨 HERE’S WHAT HAPPENED. 🔹 Affected version: Rank Math SEO PRO 3.0.123. 🔹 Malicious distribution window: 15–16 October 2026, lasting approximately 11 hours and 10 minutes. 🔹 Vulnerability: CVE-2026-111862. 🔹 Reported severity: CRITICAL — CVSS 9.8. 🔹 Attack: Malicious code distributed through compromised plugin packages, potentially establishing persistent backdoor access. 🔹 Risks: Unauthorized administrator access, modified website files, database compromise and exposure of passwords or API credentials. 🔹 Clean replacement: Version 3.0.124.
