🚨 MICROSOFT 365 OUTAGE — AND THIS IS WHY $ICP MATTERS On 31 August 2026, Microsoft suffered a widespread Microsoft 365 outage, with Exchange Online users reporting authentication failures, email delivery delays and failed mailbox operations. The disruption also impacted services including Teams, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Purview and Defender XDR. Microsoft linked the incident to a core authentication configuration used by multiple internal Exchange Online services. This is exactly why infrastructure architecture matters. $ICP takes a fundamentally different approach. Applications, compute, storage, data and web-serving capability can run directly on decentralized blockchain infrastructure rather than being completely dependent on traditional hyperscale cloud providers and shared centralized infrastructure. That does NOT mean $ICP can never experience disruption. But it demonstrates why governments, enterprises and critical infrastructure operators should seriously consider architectures that reduce dependence on a handful of centralized cloud providers.
