1.1M $GRVT burned, nearly 1% of circulating supply at the time. @grvt_io has completed its first buyback, purchasing 1.1M tokens from the open market and permanently burning them. Official announcement: https://t.co/sLFaeUxML0 What I like is that the tokens weren’t just bought and left sitting in a treasury. They were burned through the token contract, meaning they can’t be spent again through its normal operation. You can track the purchases, cumulative burns and transaction hashes on Grvt’s public dashboard. Dashboard: https://t.co/SgXXfi0aqw Future buybacks are intended to happen monthly, but remain at the token issuer’s discretion. The timing and amount can vary, so I’ll be watching how the program develops. Now, there’s more to this than the burn. Grvt 2.0 is bringing some interesting products to the platform. ✧ Grvt Earn: Tokenized fixed-income strategies targeting yields of up to 11%. Not guaranteed. ✧ Stable Funding Perps: Stocks, FX, commodities and indices, with zero trading fees and once-daily funding. Target: 1,000+ markets by December 2026. ✧ Yield as Margin: Use eligible Earn balances as trading margin while continuing to earn yield. ✧ Grvt 2.0 App: A redesigned app bringing earning and trading together in one self-custodial experience. Personally, Yield as Margin is the one I’m most interested in. The idea of putting eligible capital to work while still using it to support trading positions is worth watching. I want to see how the collateral rules and liquidation risks work in practice. If these products attract more users and generate sustainable business activity, that could help support future buybacks. But we’ll have to see how things play out, especially since buybacks aren’t guaranteed. For now, I’ve added $GRVT back to my watchlist. I’ll be watching the product rollout, actual adoption and how the team executes from here.
