I finally have a way to explain post-quantum security without a single equation. Your signature is the key to your front door. A STARK proof is the inspector who checks the building's work. Those are two different jobs, and a quantum computer cares about only one of them. Shor's algorithm targets the elliptic-curve math behind common signatures, so the key is what needs rethinking. The inspector works from hash functions, a different construction, and the Quantum Hub says Starknet does not need to replace its proving system as part of its post-quantum migration. Here is the part I like most. Every Starknet account is a programmable contract, so a new account implementation can adopt a post-quantum signature verifier without a protocol-wide change. The lock gets swapped and the building stays. The Architecture section walks through both halves: https://t.co/bqBqknSRIO It is not automatic, and the Hub says so. Existing accounts do not change on their own, and wallet support, key management and recovery are separate work. That is what @Starknet means by preparing for quantum threats, as opposed to being done.
