The first round of @Starknet Creator Rewards was distributed yesterday; I ranked seventh—solid, but nothing extraordinary. The new round launched yesterday as well. Compared to the first round, the number of winners has increased from 20 to 30, with no other major changes. Recently, I’ve seen @Starknet’s discussions around an independent Post-Quantum L1, and I believe this direction deserves serious exploration. Why consider an independent L1? The core issue isn’t just about adopting a different network architecture—it’s about rethinking: when future cryptographic security requirements evolve, how much control should a chain have over its own upgrade timeline? Starknet already uses STARK proofs and native account abstraction, providing a more flexible foundation for integrating post-quantum signature schemes. However, as an Ethereum L2, it still relies on Ethereum for bridging, data availability, and other critical components. Exploring an independent L1 offers the opportunity to take full ownership of the evolution of these security layers. Of course, independence doesn’t automatically mean greater security. Consensus mechanisms, validator participation, economic security, and data availability all require new solutions to be built from the ground up. This remains an exploratory direction—not a finalized migration plan.
