Recording a place is one thing, but making sure the video is useful is what really matters. That’s something interesting about what @vangrid_io is building. When someone records a narrow street, a staircase, or a small passage, they need to capture it properly from different angles. If some parts are missed or the camera moves too fast, it can affect the quality of the final 3D model. Privacy matters too. VanGrid blurs faces and number plates directly on the phone before the footage is encoded. The original, unblurred frames stay on the device. There’s also a way to check the records onchain. Each capture gets a unique fingerprint, and its record is added to a Merkle tree. Roughly every 15 minutes, the tree's root is recorded on Base. Through the Explorer, people can check the latest records and see how many captures have been included. But here’s something I’m curious about. Having a record onchain doesn't automatically mean the video is good enough to meet the requirements. How does @vangrid_io handle the final quality check? After someone finishes uploading a video, does the browser show immediately whether the capture has passed or failed, or does it take some extra steps to confirm the quality? I think this part is just as important as collecting the data itself.
