Interesting. @Starknet is getting ready to become an L1. But I don’t think quantum resistance is what makes an L1 succeed. The execution layer is no different from other chains, and users don’t pick a chain for quantum resistance. Going L1 without an ecosystem means token inflation to pay validators, which drags down the token price, which shrinks the staking collateral and weakens security. The moment you drop Ethereum’s security and stand up your own, that spiral starts. I think that’s the real reason Story Protocol, now @datafdn, shut down its own L1 and moved onto @SuiNetwork as a native protocol. An L1 without an ecosystem is just a cost center. If quantum fear becomes real and every chain breaks, Starknet will be the only one left standing. If everyone defends in time, the L1 move becomes pointless and the token probably drops fast. This isn’t really a tech strategy. It’s a bet that quantum fear actually arrives.
