“Athens figured out 2,500 years ago that the way to stop a bribed verdict is a jury too big to buy. We built one for the internet. Meet Optimistic Democracy, the consensus that powers GenLayer.” Every system that decides truth today has exactly one spot someone could bribe, a court, a platform, an oracle. @GenLayer was built to not have that spot at all. Here’s the actual sequence: • One validator gets picked at random and proposes an answer • A separate set of validators, each running a different model, checks it independently • Agreement closes the case fast, no waiting required • Disagreement doesn’t restart the process, it grows the jury instead: 5, then 11, then 23, then 47 Every one of those votes has real money riding on it, not just an opinion. Nobody in that jury needs to be virtuous or perfectly honest. They just need to know staying truthful costs less than getting caught wrong later. Defending a bad call gets meaningfully pricier with every single round someone pushes back on it. That mechanism is what actually impresses me here, more than the fact that AI models are the ones judging at all. Speed comes free the first time around. Certainty has to be earned through repeated scrutiny instead. What changes once the fastest answer stops automatically counting as the correct one? Watch the explainer, then pick the one piece you think is actually load bearing: the randomness, the model diversity, the stake, or the growing jury itself, and say why the other three matter less.
