DeFi Volume Update – July Recap July didn't deliver explosive growth in DeFi trading volume, but it showed something arguably more important: consistency. Throughout the month, daily volume mostly stayed within the $5B–7B range, with only a brief dip in the middle before recovering strongly into month-end. Rather than seeing liquidity disappear after each rally, capital continued rotating within the ecosystem. A few observations: Early July saw a slowdown as traders became more cautious. Mid-month volume stabilized, suggesting healthy two-way participation instead of panic selling. The final week brought a noticeable pickup in activity, with several of the highest-volume sessions of the month, indicating renewed market interest. This doesn't yet signal a full-fledged DeFi bull market. However, steady volume is often a stronger foundation than short-lived spikes. Sustained liquidity creates an environment where lending, DEXs, liquid staking, and yield strategies can continue to expand. If August can build on this momentum with higher volume accompanying price appreciation, it would be a much stronger confirmation that fresh capital is flowing back into DeFi rather than simply rotating within crypto. The key metric to watch next isn't just TVL—it's whether trading volume continues trending higher. Liquidity usually moves before narratives do. #DeFi #Crypto #Ethereum #Lending #DEX #Web3
