According to Arkham data, the Ethereum Foundation is nearing its goal of staking 70,000 ETH. On-chain tracking data from Arkham Intelligence shows that, as of early April 2026, the Ethereum Foundation has deposited approximately 69,500 ETH into the Beacon Chain deposit contract, valued at around $143 million at current prices. Prior to this, the foundation had cumulatively deposited over 45,000 ETH (approximately $93 million) on April 6. This brings the foundation within about 500 ETH of its February-announced target of staking 70,000 ETH in its treasury. The initiative aims to generate annual returns of approximately $3.9 million to $5.4 million for the EF, enhance the security of Ethereum’s proof-of-stake consensus, and reduce reliance on selling ETH to fund operations.
