Circle just became the largest blockchain patent holder in the U.S. Circle acquired nearly 1,000 issued blockchain patents from IBM spanning over 680 patent families across banking, payments, insurance, supply chains, cloud security, and enterprise infrastructure. The portfolio directly supports USDC, Circle Payments Network, Arc, and AI agent financial tools. Circle and IBM also plan to explore further commercial opportunities. Financial terms were not disclosed. CRCL shares rose 2.5% in premarket trading.
