𝑴𝒐𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓 “𝑪𝑪𝑫” 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒖𝒎’𝒔 𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐𝒌𝒆𝒏. Fair enough. But $CCD is doing more behind the scenes than simply paying transaction fees. Every transaction on Concordium costs roughly €0.01. The fee is denominated in euros and converted into $CCD at the network’s current rate, so users get a relatively predictable network cost even when $CCD’s market price moves. For businesses, that means $CCD becomes part of the operating infrastructure. A merchant processing thousands of transactions cannot simply buy $CCD when an order arrives and hope for the best. It needs a working float, enough $CCD available to keep transactions flowing and enough buffer to avoid running out. Then comes the security layer. Validators have to lock $CCD to participate in securing @Concordium , with a minimum validator stake of 500,000 $CCD. As of September 17, 2026, roughly 10 billion $CCD was staked across 122 validators. That locked supply matters. If someone wants to compromise the network, they are not attacking a system protected by nothing. They would have to acquire and commit a meaningful amount of the same asset that everyone else is locking to secure the chain. $CCD also has a governance role. Eligible $CCD holdings contribute to voting power, meaning the token connects economic participation with a say in how the network evolves. Staked $CCD still counts toward voting weight, while $CCD held in custody at an exchange does not. 𝙎𝙤 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙠𝙚𝙣 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨 𝙪𝙥 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙚𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙟𝙤𝙗𝙨: 𝙄𝙩 𝙥𝙖𝙮𝙨. 𝙄𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙨. 𝙄𝙩 𝙜𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙨. And the rise of AI agents makes this more interesting. An agent might never hold $CCD directly or even know it exists. It simply needs to complete a transaction, pay for an API call, purchase something, verify a credential, or interact with another service. The business running that agent handles the balance. Validators process the transaction. $CCD quietly powers the machinery underneath. That is the interesting part. The end user doesn’t need to think about $CCD any more than they think about the electricity running the server behind their favourite app. If @Concordium works as intended, $CCD becomes almost invisible. Which is probably the most blockchain thing imaginable: everyone is busy using the machine while the token is somewhere underneath, paying the electricity bill like the quiet guy at the party nobody remembers invited. #Concordium
