OIL PRICES ARE SURGING. IS ANOTHER INFLATION SHOCK COMING? Global oil prices are climbing again, with Brent crude trading near $110 per barrel, raising fresh concerns about inflation and putting the Federal Reserve under pressure. Higher oil prices don't just affect energy markets. They increase transportation and production costs, potentially pushing consumer prices higher and making inflation harder to control. Meanwhile, markets are pricing in roughly an 85% chance that the Fed will keep interest rates unchanged at its upcoming October meeting. But here's the concern: if oil prices remain elevated and inflation continues to rise, the Fed could be forced to maintain restrictive monetary policy for longer, or even consider further rate hikes. For crypto, that could mean tighter liquidity, greater volatility, and additional pressure on BTC and other risk assets. Will rising oil prices trigger another crypto sell-off, or has the market already priced in the risk?
