one thing that makes crypto addresses awkward is how a single public address can become a reference point for tracking someone's activity over time. @Americanfort_io takes a different approach with FortressName. instead of copying a long wallet address, you send to a readable name, and the wallet derives a fresh, one-time address for that payment. the distinction matters because the name doesn't have to point publicly to one permanent receiving address. the transfer still settles on the supported blockchain as usual, but the receiving address can change from one payment to the next. what i find interesting is the attempt to make this work across 13 networks using one readable name. users can have a simpler way to identify a recipient without needing to reuse the same public address everywhere. of course, a fresh address doesn't make the transaction itself invisible. the transfer remains onchain, and how much activity can be linked depends on the implementation and other information available to observers. still, this is a useful direction for crypto usability. the easier it becomes to send funds without repeatedly exposing the same address, the better the balance between convenience and privacy can become.
