Most infrastructure is checked on a schedule. Problems don't keep schedules. A substation fence gets cut. A pipeline corridor floods. A truck stalls on a rail line. By the next inspection, the damage is done. This is one of the use cases @vangrid_io is building toward, and I think it's underrated. The idea: instead of a handful of fixed cameras and a patrol every few weeks, you get a live picture of an area, built from verified observations. How it's designed to work: → Draw a precise zone on a map: a substation perimeter, a pipeline corridor, a port → Subscribe to a live feed of observations for just that zone → Compare what comes in against a known baseline → Flag anything new: a breach, a missing structure, an obstruction, rising water The docs cover energy, water, rail, roads, ports, refineries and pipelines. Pipelines are a big one: a corridor can be so long that walking patrols just aren't practical. Two details I liked: → Every alert carries a provenance hash, so you have a tamper-evident record for an investigation, a regulator, or a court → When confidence drops because fewer phones are reporting, the docs say to raise your alert sensitivity, not to ignore it. Low visibility is treated as a risk, not as silence To be clear about where things stand: the enterprise API is in early access, and the examples in the docs are illustrative. Continuous coverage like this depends on how many contributors are active in an area. But the direction makes sense. Places that can't afford sensor fleets could still get eyes on the ground. Which infrastructure near you would you want watched first? @NucleusCodes
