Hey, good morning, The interesting part of prediction markets isn't always getting the outcome right. Sometimes it's being ready for the chaos around it. I tried this on @Polymarket during Nottingham Forest vs Arsenal. My position was Over 0.5 goals: • 20 shares at 60¢ • 20 shares at 50¢ • $22 invested Before the goal, I placed limit orders on both sides. Sell Over at 98¢ and 99¢, while leaving tiny Under buys at 1¢ and 2¢. Then the goal happened. For a brief moment, uncertainty took over. My Over sell orders filled for $39.40, while the sudden rush into the market also filled my Under orders: 200 shares for just $3. That Under position was basically a bet on chaos. If VAR had overturned the goal and the match finished 0–0, those shares could have paid $200. If the goal stood, they would be worth nothing. The goal stood, so the Under position lost its $3. Final result: $14.40 profit on $25 in total spending. Small trade, just for fun. Not a strategy I'd assume works every time. But it highlights something worth understanding about prediction markets: price movements can create opportunities even when you're not making a fresh prediction about the final outcome. Sometimes the edge comes from having orders ready before everyone else reacts. Ofc, execution, liquidity and fees matter. Panic doesn't guarantee profit.
