Sending crypto to a username sounds like a small UX improvement. The privacy design behind it is the more interesting part. @Americanfort_io’s Send-to-Name lets users send to a name instead of copying a wallet address, while deriving a fresh, one-time address for each payment. That’s different from simply putting a readable name on a permanent wallet address. FortressName is designed not to publicly expose one fixed wallet, its balance and its transaction history. I like this approach because privacy shouldn’t require making crypto harder to use. The next thing I’m watching is how the planned SafeSend layer develops, especially its use of zero-knowledge proofs and selective disclosure.
