We’ve reached a point where people can promise extraordinary wealth without presenting a single number to support it, and retail just keeps feeding these accounts with views. But have we actually looked at what’s happening in the market? Bitcoin dominance is around 60.2%. It’s actually increased by roughly 1.6% points in the past month. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded 228.4m. in net outflows last week. Ethereum ETFs lost another 320.1m. The Altcoin Season Index is at 56/100. You need 75 for a confirmed altseason, and even that only means most of the tracked altcoins have outperformed Bitcoin. It certainly doesn’t mean they’re going to do 1000x. Here’s another interesting number.. In September, centralised exchanges recorded 3.94T in derivatives trading compared with 1.13T in spot trading. Think about that..almost 78% of trading volume was derivatives. Huge trading activity doesn’t necessarily mean investors are pouring fresh money into altcoins and holding them. Now let’s talk about this 1000x fantasy. A token worth 100m. would need to reach a valuation of 100b. to deliver 1000x, assuming its supply remains the same. Just 10 such tokens would represent 1T in combined valuations. I’m not saying all that money would need to flow into the market. That’s not how market cap works. But surely someone promising these returns should explain what kind of demand could support those valuations? I’m not suggesting altcoins won’t rally. Some are already outperforming Bitcoin. What I’m questioning is this blind belief that 100s of tokens will suddenly appreciate just because that’s what happened in previous cycles. We have a different market now. Different capital flows, different institutional participation, more competition between tokens and more supply entering circulation. Yet people are still being encouraged to sit back and wait for some magical altseason that will make everyone rich. And here’s the part that really bothers me. These accounts collect their views whether they’re right or wrong. Retail is the one putting actual money at risk. Why are we rewarding predictions that have absolutely no supporting evidence while treating anyone questioning them as bearish? If you’re convinced a massive altseason is coming, I’d genuinely like to see your numbers.Where is the demand coming from? Which tokens will attract it? And why should we assume this money will spread across hundreds of coins rather than concentrate in a relatively small number? Can anyone answer that without showing me another green candle?
