MARK KARPELÈS SLAMS LEDGER CEO OVER HANDLING OF HARDWARE WALLET SUPPLY CHAIN ATTACK Former Mt. Gox CEO Mark Karpelès accused Ledger of failing to adequately warn customers about sophisticated hardware implants despite knowing about the threat as early as March 2026. Karpelès argued that evidence of mass-produced, self-aligning implants should have triggered a “five-alarm fire” response, rather than a warning buried in Ledger Academy. Ledger CEO Pascal Gauthier responded by invoking Karpelès’ history at Mt. Gox, prompting Karpelès to fire back: “I trusted you to do better by learning of my failure — to be better than me.” Karpelès also criticized Ledger’s continued downplaying of the incident and questioned its communication with affected customers.
