Bitcoin is stabilizing. ETH is still losing ground. Market in Focus | 18 Oct 2026 At 06:11 UTC, CoinGecko put BTC near $81,654, up 0.21% over 24 hours, while ETH traded at $2,409.73, down 0.71%. Bitcoin's modest green reading is not a shared recovery. Yesterday I wanted both to reclaim roughly $82,115 and $2,461, with ETH keeping pace. Neither has regained those reference prices, and ETH is underperforming again. Those are checkpoints from the earlier snapshot, not technical resistance levels. The latest completed ETF week also leaves ETH with more to repair: Farside's October 12-16 totals show $320.1m leaving US spot ETH funds versus $228.4m from BTC funds. This is one demand channel, not proof of what caused today's price moves. Over the next 24-72 hours, reclaiming and holding those price checkpoints, alongside a firmer ETH/BTC ratio, would improve the recovery case. Renewed joint ETF inflows after US trading resumes would add confirmation. If BTC steadies but ETH keeps slipping against it, I would keep the broader recovery thesis on hold.
