Gm Creators One of the biggest challenges in post quantum crypto security is protecting old wallets. Many proposed solutions require users to move their coins to a new address. But what about wallets that have been inactive for years? This is the problem @americanfort_io is trying to solve. The team introduced a concept called ZKPoSP, which stands for Zero Knowledge Proof of Seed Provenance. In simple terms, it aims to let users prove they own an existing wallet without moving their funds or changing their address. Here is how it works: → Prove ownership: Users generate a zero knowledge proof to show they control the seed and derivation path behind their wallet. → Keep funds in place: Instead of transferring coins to a new address, the proposed system allows users to prove ownership of their existing address. → Prepare for quantum risks: The design uses hash functions and hash based proofs instead of relying on elliptic curve security assumptions. → Fast verification: The team's prototype reportedly takes around 12 to 13 seconds to generate a proof, while verification takes roughly 10 milliseconds. The team also introduced QBIP32, a companion derivation scheme designed to support both secp256k1 and Ed25519. However, there is an important distinction. ZKPoSP is still an academic proposal. Its post quantum security is a research claim that needs further validation, not a guarantee that existing wallets are already protected. For me, the biggest challenge is adoption. A security solution can be technically impressive, but if users find it difficult to use, many will ignore it. The goal should be to make wallet protection simple enough for anyone to complete without needing deep technical knowledge. Can this approach help protect dormant crypto wallets without forcing users to move their funds? That is the question worth watching as the research develops.
