we might now know how the attackers found the UK guy who got robbed for $800K at knifepoint this morning he confirmed he banks with revolut revolut had a data breach a few months ago. hackers used a fake government email to trick revolut into handing over customer data names, home addresses, phone numbers, passport photos and full crypto transaction history so if you’re a criminal and you have that data you know exactly who holds crypto, how much they have, and where they live you don’t need to hack anything. you just show up at their door someone on CT connected the dots today and honestly it makes too much sense the attackers didn’t randomly pick a house. they knew who he was. they knew what he had. they knew where to find him all from a data breach that happened months ago. that everyone forgot about because revolut said “your funds are safe” your funds were safe bro. your home address wasn’t and this is probably not the last time someone’s front door gets kicked in because a company leaked their data data breaches aren’t just about losing passwords. sometimes the cost shows up at your house with a knife
