The story in that image does not start with the Nexa logo. It starts on BitcoinTalk — with anonymous nicknames, long nights, and a thread that refused to die. Years ago, between 2012 and 2016, a war was being fought on the BitcoinTalk forum over the soul of Bitcoin. People gathered there who believed electronic money should be fast, cheap, and usable by the whole world — not turned into a museum piece. Nobody used real names back then. Only the arguments counted. That is where these names appeared: - solex — Andrew Clifford, today President of Bitcoin Unlimited. - thezerg — Andrew Stone, the lead developer who would later write the Bitcoin Unlimited client and then Nexa itself. - sickpig — Andrea Suisani, a core developer who had been involved with Bitcoin since 2011. - ptschip — Peter Tschipper, the engineer behind some of Bitcoin Unlimited’s most important technology. - Peter R — Peter Rizun, a physicist who brought scientific rigor to the scaling debate. They were the big-blockers. They fought for larger blocks and for Bitcoin to scale on-chain, rather than moving activity to second layers. In 2014, solex opened a thread that now reads like a sketch of Nexa: people are not comfortable with tiny decimals and scientific notation — they would rather count in whole units. In 2015, that same group formed Bitcoin Unlimited. In 2017, on the Gigablock testnet, they mined a block larger than one gigabyte. The ideas never died. They simply did not yet have a home of their own. After years of arguments over Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash, the team decided to do it their own way. On June 21, 2022, Nexa launched with a fair launch — no premine, no coins for the founders, just like Bitcoin. Its official lineage is simple: a modification of Bitcoin Cash, which is a modification of Bitcoin. The image is not a token advertisement. It is a portrait of a group that climbed out of the BitcoinTalk trenches with one obsession: to build the chain they had been talking about for a decade. Fast blocks. Native tokens. Scripts. Layer-1 scaling. And later, even hardware designed to verify transactions the way Satoshi imagined — only faster. That is why the old nicknames sit next to real names at the bottom. That is why Nexa’s gold triangle stands beside the infinity symbol. The story in the picture does not begin in 2022. It begins where people argued about Bitcoin — before anyone knew they would one day call it @NexaMoney. #Nexa #BitcoinTalk #BitcoinUnlimited #BitcoinCash #BitcoinHistory #UTXO #OnChain
