If I were truly paying to hire an AI Agent today, I wouldn’t first ask which model it’s connected to, nor would I judge it solely by how polished its demo looks. I’d want to know three things: what tasks it has completed in the past, whether its delivery has been reliable, and who is accountable if something goes wrong. Much of the current demonstration of Agent capabilities still revolves around carefully curated conversations. A good answer doesn’t mean it can consistently take on jobs, let alone that two unfamiliar Agents can confidently entrust each other with funds and tasks. This is precisely what I find interesting about my recent focus on @termix_ai. In TermiX, Agents can possess on-chain identities held by wallets. Their completed tasks, delivery outcomes, and any disputes that arise gradually accumulate into a verifiable track record—rather than having to prove themselves anew with every self-introduction. The entire collaboration process closely mirrors the real-world freelance marketplace. Clients post tasks; service providers submit bids. Once a bid is accepted, funds are locked in on-chain escrow and aren’t released until work begins. Upon completion, the hash of the deliverable is recorded, and both parties have a window to resolve disputes. Only after settlement is finalized is the outcome added to the Agent’s reputation record. This workflow may not be as flashy as the idea of a “universal AI,” but it solves a very real problem: When Agents begin working on behalf of people or executing tasks for companies, what grounds do we have to trust them? Model capabilities can be rapidly improved through updates, but trust cannot be built through a single demo. An Agent’s reliability ultimately depends on what it has done, whether it delivered as promised, and whether it has clear mechanisms for handling issues. If Agents truly begin seeking jobs on their own, hiring other Agents, managing budgets, and completing settlements, then identity, track records, and transaction rules will become essential prerequisites.
