The crypto market is technologically complex and highly innovative. As a result, it’s not an ideal space for someone who doesn’t dedicate serious time to it. In this field, those who do invest significant time have a responsibility to guide the community. But there’s a paradox: Once a figure reaches a certain number of followers, they tend to stop researching and learning, and instead focus on how to monetize their audience through referrals. Consequently, highly followed figures produce low-quality content, while lesser-known figures struggle to be heard. The most influential voices in the community are often the heavily followed ones. Because of this negative dynamic, a backlash against influencers is forming within the community. As a result, many people who could produce high-quality content choose not to create at all, asking: “Why should I become an influencer just to deal with other people’s reactions?”
